ITH donates 2,500.00 € for charity organization „Gleam of Hope“

Initiated by the ITH staff, this year 1,088.00 € were collected for the charity organization “Aktion Lichtblicke” (“Gleam of Hope”) during Christmas time. The donations were raised by the ITH general management to a total amount of 2,500.00 €.

This year the initiative started on the 19th of November. Not only ITH staff members but also visitors at ITH had the chance to take part. The ITH staff had designed two so-called "donation candles" with integrated money reservoir.
One candle was placed at the ITH entrance desk while the other one was handed over from department to department.
"We thank all the donators very much ", said ITH presidents Frank Hohmann and Jörg Hohmann. "We would like to point out that the initiative for this project came from the ITH staff. We highly appreciate this as a symbolic act to help people in need".
Since 2014 the ITH staff collects money during Christmas time and donates to "Gleam of Hope". Every donator spends as much as she or he likes or can afford. No matter what the amount is, every Cent helps kids in need.
The amount was transferred to the charity organization on 18th December.
Who benefits from the donation?
The donation goes to “Aktion Lichtblicke” which can be translated with “Project Gleam of Hope”. Since 1998, “Aktion Lichtblicke” supports children, adolescents and their families who have been in need physically, financially and mentally.
The organization is officially certified for its transparent work from the ‘German institute for social issues (DZI)’ and does...
- care about children, for whom a hot meal a day is not self-evident,
- enable handicap-fair conversations for seriously ill children,
- finance urgently needed treatments and therapies for children,
- pay holidays for children who never had the opportunity to go on holiday,
- spend hope, where despair is.
