The electric Nut Runner EDS can tighten and loosen different bolt connections (M16 to M110, 400 Nm to 13,000 Nm) for maintenance work and production assembly.
For railway sleeper connections ITH developed the special customized design "EDS T-Form" with horizontal T-handle. EDS T-Form based on the EDS digital with multifunction display.
Optimal reaction point always guaranteed: extensions or special reaction arms from ITH can be customized and are quickly interchangeable.
By use of different accessories (sockets, extensions, reaction arms) the fields of application can be extended.

The chain plates of an earthmoving machines are torqued with an EDS 400, 4,000 Nm (Bolt connection 2x M27)
Bolt connection at a cone crusher for hard rock with the right-angle version (specially for limited axial area over the bolt connection).
Limited axial clearance due to the wall on the left makes this an ideal application for the right-angle version EDSw 250 with digital display. The torque capacity of this nut runner is 2,500 Nm.
The coupling bolt connection at a rail vehicle is torqued by EDS digital 250 with a customized extension.
The chain plates connections (2x M27) of a construction machine are tightened and loosened with the Nut Runner EDS 400 (4,000 Nm ) during maintenance. ITH delivers bolting tools and fasteners for a large range of applications at construction machines:

EDSw α:
All right-angle versions EDSw are designed for applications with space limitations as seen here at a 3 MW wind turbine blade connection. Additionally, these M30 bolts are tightened using the torque-angle method (alpha version α) with a torque-angle of 180° to achieve higher precision than the standard torque method.
The EDS can be used in small joints because of the compact gearbox - as seen here on the wheel of a dump truck. By use of different accessories (sockets, extensions, reaction arms) the fields of application can be extended.

The ITH documentation system allows for easy, digital management of all custom data associated with the tightening process including bolt size,
bolt quality, torque or application values, and bolt and personnel identification numbers.
Data transfer via SD-card
The application data can be preset via the ITH software on a PC and saved to a SD-card. The SD-card is plugged into a control box at the ITH Nut Runner.
ITH documentation software:
Through a user-friendly design, the ITH documentation software offers easy control and evaluation of the tightening process. The software is developed by ITH and can be customized.

Electric Nut Runner EDS
Tightening and loosening of bolt connections from M16 to M110, 400 Nm to 13,000 Nm.
The newest generation of the ITH electrical nut runner has faster working electronics, an user-friendly digital display, and a 1,300 W motor.
Ideal for international machinery outfits
The EDS III has key features ideal for international companies with machinery outfits: The electronics automatically detect and adjust for 50 Hz or 60 Hz and monitors voltage fluctuations common when using on-site generator power supplies.
Design layout
The torque value from the motor is multiplied by the high-performance planetary gearbox to the value entered. With 360° rotation it is possible to reach the ideal reaction point. Customized reaction arms (TWIN-reaction arm, swivel foot) can be made for individual customer needs.
The rotary switch of the gearbox allows fast switching between the hi and low gears. Due to the mechanical friction clutch, overstress is impossible. The swivel joint at the motor guarantees an ideal reaction point.
Function description
The torque value shown on the multifunctional display can easily be adjusted with the +/- pushbuttons. The torque values at the EDS simple version are adjusted with the dial control.
The soft-turn-automatic (STA) of the microcontroller adjusts the rpm of the motor to the individual torque values. Through this a fast and material friendly bolting operation is accomplished. When the previously set torque value is reached the nut runner automatically stops.
Menu control multifunction display
All relevant data for the tightening process are shown directly on the digital display. The values of the bolting data that is not necessary to be displayed is saved to the microchip.
The necessary torque values, bolt dimensions, and bolt quality are displayed during input with the pushbutton of the user. In the case a customer uses different assembly stations the menu of the EDS can be changed according to each station. The microchip will be programmed for each individual station.
Universal sockets: Flexible use through various sockets, reaction arms, extensions, and side-drives.
The square drive is compatible with all square drive sockets including hexagon sockets and hexagon drive sockets. Various reaction arms are available as well as customer specific designs. With all the available accessories the EDS can be used for a variety of applications. Overview of accessories.
