At ITH Bolting Technology, it’s not just all about bolt connections – we also focus on the specialists and managers of tomorrow! The second-generation, owner-managed family business is a global leader in bolting technology – for large industrial bolt connections from M16 upwards. As a system supplier, the mechanical engineering company offers fasteners, engineering services and service in addition to bolting tools. Every year, at least ten to twelve trainees are set | to adjust at the headquarters in Meschede-Enste – with one of the world’s most modern competence centers for industrial bolting tools.
It is important to ITH to give its trainees responsibility right from the start. Own ideas can be developed and implemented through short decision-making paths – in constant exchange with colleagues and superiors. An ideal environment that offers young people the opportunity for personal and professional development. At ITH, trainees can show what they are made of, develop their potential and surpass themselves.
ITH trains specialists in all areas of the company: Electronics, mechatronics, IT, technical product design, warehouse logistics, machining mechanics and in the commercial sector.
From apprentice to production manager – promoting professional careers at ITH
Anyone who demonstrates commitment and ability can climb the career ladder at ITH with or without a degree. This is demonstrated by numerous careers at ITH, for example that of Julian Kotthoff, who began his training as a cutting machine operator in 2004.
During this three-and-a-half-year apprenticeship, trainees learn how to manufacture precision metal components using processes such as turning, milling or grinding. After around 1 ½ years, they can then specialize in turning or milling machine systems. Cutting machine operators work with CNC-controlled machine tools, which they set up and monitor during the manufacturing process. To advance the work processes, they clamp metal parts and tools in the machines and align them. In the meantime, they inspect | to check whether the dimensions and surface quality of the finished workpieces meet the specifications. Machining mechanics also carry out simple maintenance and inspection tasks on the machines, primarily checking mechanical components. “As part of a school internship, for example, we offer everyone the opportunity to get a taste of the company and the apprenticeship. You immediately get a good feel for the technology and the tasks,” says Julian Kotthoff.
Following his apprenticeship, Julian worked as a skilled worker at ITH and was promoted to deputy shift manager after some time. In order to further advance his professional career, he then completed further training as an industrial foreman while working. ITH also supports further and advanced training measures for trainees and employees. After successfully passing his master craftsman’s examination, Julian was offered the position of deputy production manager. In the meantime, he has climbed even higher up the career ladder at ITH and has taken over the entire management of production.
True to the motto: “ITH connects careers” – for a successful future.
