From trainee to deputy head of department – ITH promotes professional careers
Anyone who demonstrates commitment and ability can climb the career ladder at ITH with or without a degree. True to the motto: “ITH connects careers” – for a successful future. This is demonstrated, for example, by the career of Dennis Kurzhals, who began training as an IT specialist specializing in system integration in 2014.
During this three-year apprenticeship, Dennis learned all about the planning, installation and administration of the company’s internal IT systems. At the same time, he began to set up an intranet – the ITH Wiki – and put it into operation. Employees can access data such as production drawings or assembly instructions at any time via the wiki. Company information is also shared via the wiki. Dennis trained the relevant employees in the use of this system and continuously adapted it to the wishes and requirements of the company. After successfully completing his training in 2017, Dennis was taken on as an IT specialist at ITH. He was primarily responsible for the entire administration and further development of the ITH Wiki. In 2020, Dennis was promoted to Deputy Head of Department. His area of responsibility today largely comprises the development of interfaces, for example for the SAP system, applications in general and process optimization. A current example is the connection of the new production warehouse to the existing SAP system.
In addition to training in the field of system integration, ITH also offers training in the field of application development. The trainees learn to develop and program software for our company or customer companies. They install software applications and are also responsible for their continuous updating and maintenance and provide general IT support.
