Andreas N. is celebrating his 25th work anniversary
Sometimes, chance determines the course of one’s life. This was also true for Andreas. He originally intended to pursue a career in gardening and landscaping after school, having already gained initial experience through holiday work. But when he had to dig up the ground in freezing temperatures, it became clear to him: This would not be his future.
Back then, a good friend had applied to ITH and gave Andreas the idea to try it as well. A decision that turned out to be a perfect match. In 2001, Andreas began his apprenticeship as a cutting machine operator at ITH. He started out in turning. At the end of his second year of training, he moved to the milling department—an important step in his further development.
Andreas not only experienced ITH’s years of growth, but actively helped shape them. For example, he was one of the first to carry out his final project on a machining center. Together with Vitaly V., he developed automatic deburring at the time, setting an important milestone.
Around ten years ago, Andreas moved from production to quality assurance. Here, too, he was among the first to break new ground. Even more importantly, he played a key role in building up quality assurance in the form it has today.
Jörg Hohmann describes him perfectly: „You can bring basic training with you, but you have to live the sense of responsibility and the “nitpicky” mindset—in the most positive sense.“ These qualities have distinguished Andreas over the years. He is now a team leader, and his eye for detail, his strong quality awareness, and his reliable actions make him a valued colleague. Frank Hohmann also extends his sincere thanks for his many years of commitment to the company.
Andreas also stays active in his private life. Riding motorcycles and cycling have always been among his hobbies, although the motorcycle is hardly used anymore since he bought an e-bike. He spends a large part of his free time with his girlfriend as well as on projects around the house and garden. Because as we all know: You’re never really finished with garden design.
Today, at 42, Andreas looks back on 25 successful years with ITH—a quarter-century full of change, challenges, and shared successes. We thank him for his dedication, loyalty, and contribution to ITH’s development, and we look forward to many more years together.
