Standard and special designs for push-in connections
ITH hydraulic nuts can be used as a substitute for conventional hexagon nuts or standard round nuts.

Application areas
Even with low height clearances the compact ITH hydraulic nuts, standard design, allow to tighten these bolts safely and precisely. Therefore the hydraulic connector is designed as an elbow.
As this is an high-temperature application the high pressure hoseline is equipped with a fire-resistant tube. Once applied with pressure hydraulic nuts remain tightened (pretensioned) on the bolt.
These bolts of a horizontal rotation table are tightened with ITH hydraulic nuts M36 (1 3/8''). As this application is radially free a standard design of the hydraulic nut can be used. Herby the lock nut can be turned down with the integrated bore holes by using an adjusting stick (tommy bar).
This hydraulic nut type is a special design for push-in connections like for example on counter weights of construction machines or cranes.
The hydraulic nut is preassembled on the bolt and both can be positioned in the countersink of the push-in connection. With the square socket it is possible to turn the hydraulic nut and the bolt together into the countersink which speeds up the assembly.
The bolt connections of the counter weights of this construction machine are designed as push-in connections. They are applied over head into the countersink.
The ITH hydraulic nut was preassembled on the IHF fastener M36 (1 3/8''). Both components together can be run down into the countersink with the square socket.
After applying the hydraulic pressure with the ITH pump MicroMAX the locknut can easily be turned down with the adjusting ring.
Standard design for bolt connections which are radially free accessible.
After assembling the ITH hydraulic nut on the bolt the hydraulic nut gets connected to an ITH high pressure pumps using a high pressure hoseline. With rising hydraulic pressure the the tie of the hydraulic nut pulls the bolt in an axial direction. Thereby the required tensioning force is applied - the bolt connection is tightened.
After reaching the maximum pressure the counter nut can be run down with an adjustment stick or in case of push-in connections with an adjustment ring as an extension for the countersink.
Now the pressure can be released and the ITH hydraulic nut remains on the bolt connection in a pretensioned status. At any time hydraulic nuts can be loosened easily - even after a long period of time and even if used in challanging environments like high-temperature applications.
